How to Add A Secondary Axis in Excel Chart?
Updated: Oct 6, 2020
Often a sales KPI report needs both number of orders and total sales volume in one chart. In this post, you will learn how to use the secondary axis in the Excel chart.

First let us create a table. First row is the month of a fiscal year. Second row is the number of orders in each month. Third row is the sales.

Then select the data area and click Insert->Insert Column or Bar Chart->2-D Column->Clustered Column.

Select the data series of Sales and click the Secondary Axis radio button.

Now there are two axis vertically on one chart.

If you want to use Line for the Sales, you can easily change it through the Change Chart Type window.
